1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you should not use the website. These terms apply only to the public website and do not create a banking, investment, advisory, fiduciary, partnership or customer relationship.
2. Website operator and status
The website presents the Canopus Bank project and its proposed institutional design. References to “Canopus”, “Canopus Bank”, “we”, “us” or “our” should be read in that pre-launch context.
The project is not currently represented as authorised to conduct banking or virtual asset business. The separate Regulatory Position forms an important part of these terms.
3. Information only
Content is provided for general information, stakeholder engagement and discussion. It does not constitute advice, an offer, a solicitation, a recommendation, a commitment to provide a product or a representation that any licence, product, feature, partnership or timetable will be approved.
You should obtain independent professional advice before acting on any legal, regulatory, tax, financial, investment, technology or other matter.
4. Permitted use
You may view, download and print website content for your own lawful, non-commercial evaluation of the Canopus project, provided that you do not remove notices, misrepresent the content or imply endorsement.
You must not:
- use the website for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or misleading activity;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems, data or accounts;
- introduce malicious code, conduct denial-of-service activity or interfere with operation;
- scrape or harvest personal data, contact details or content at scale without written permission;
- use Canopus names, marks or content to impersonate the project or solicit funds;
- reverse engineer security controls or publish vulnerability details contrary to the responsible disclosure policy.
5. Intellectual property
Website design, text, visual identity, illustrations, icons, graphics, code and other content are owned by or licensed to the Canopus project unless stated otherwise. Canopus Bank names, logos and marks may not be used without prior written permission.
No licence is granted except the limited right to access the website in accordance with these terms.
6. Accuracy and change
We aim to keep public content clear and internally consistent. Pre-launch projects change. We may update, correct, withdraw or replace content without notice. Historical or cached copies may no longer reflect the current position.
Although reasonable care is taken, we do not warrant that every item is complete, error-free, continuously available or suitable for a particular purpose.
7. Third-party links
Links to regulators and other third-party websites are provided for convenience and source verification. We do not control their availability, content, privacy practices or security and do not endorse third-party products or services merely by linking to them.
8. Website security
You are responsible for using a secure device and network. Email and internet communications are not guaranteed to be confidential or error-free. Do not submit passwords, private keys, payment credentials or unnecessary sensitive data through general website channels.
Good-faith vulnerability reports should follow the Security and Responsible Disclosure page.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website is provided on an “as available” basis. We exclude implied warranties that may lawfully be excluded.
We will not be liable for indirect, consequential or special loss arising solely from use of, inability to use, or reliance on this informational website. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
10. Responsibility for misuse
You are responsible for loss caused by your unlawful misuse of the website, infringement of intellectual property, impersonation, security interference or breach of these terms. This clause does not impose liability beyond what applicable law permits.
11. Personal data and cookies
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Notice. Browser storage and cookie choices are described in the Cookie Notice.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Seychelles. Subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction that cannot lawfully be excluded, the courts of Seychelles shall have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these terms or the website.
13. General
If any provision is unlawful or unenforceable, it shall be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary without affecting the remainder. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. We may revise these terms by publishing an updated version with a new effective date.
14. Contact
